Arm Holdings delivered stronger-than-expected first-quarter fiscal 2027 results, beating Wall Street estimates on both earnings and revenue while issuing an upbeat outlook for the current quarter. Despite the solid financial performance, Arm stock fell more than 3% in after-hours trading after already declining over 8% during Wednesday's regular session, highlighting cautious investor sentiment.

The semiconductor and chip design company reported first-quarter earnings per share (EPS) of $0.45, exceeding analysts' consensus estimate of $0.40. Revenue reached $1.29 billion, topping the expected $1.27 billion, reflecting continued demand for Arm's chip architecture across smartphones, artificial intelligence (AI), data centers, and other connected devices.

Looking ahead, Arm provided an optimistic forecast for the second quarter of fiscal 2027. The company expects earnings per share of $0.47, comfortably above the analyst consensus of $0.43. Revenue is projected to reach $1.38 billion, surpassing Wall Street's estimate of $1.34 billion.

The stronger guidance suggests Arm remains well-positioned to benefit from growing adoption of its energy-efficient chip technology across multiple industries. As AI infrastructure spending and demand for advanced semiconductor solutions continue to expand, investors will closely monitor whether the company can sustain its growth momentum in the coming quarters.

However, the positive earnings surprise and improved guidance were not enough to boost investor confidence. ARM shares extended their losses in after-hours trading, dropping more than 3% following the earnings release. The decline came after the stock had already fallen 8.11% during the regular trading session, indicating that broader market concerns or elevated expectations may have weighed on sentiment despite the company's better-than-expected financial performance.

Investors will now focus on Arm's execution of its growth strategy and its ability to capitalize on long-term opportunities in AI, cloud computing, and next-generation semiconductor technologies.
