“Ash Vs Evil Dead” Season 4 has been canceled by Netflix last year to the disappointment of the franchise’s fans. However, there are others out there who are still hoping that a fourth installment will take place.
So how likely is it that “Ash Vs Evil Dead” Season 4 will happen? Well, judging by the previous statements of Bruce Campbell, it seems highly unlikely.
“Just so you know, nothing will ever make me interested in enduring that sort of hardship ever again,” Campbell told Digital Spy. “I'm a 60-year-old man, how much longer do I need to be face down in the dirt in a f**king cellar that's dank and wet and cold?! How long do I need to do that?” The actor added that even if he was offered a substantial amount of money to reprise his role for a possible “Ash Vs Evil Dead” Season 4, he still wouldn’t be coming back.
However, he did somewhat step into the skin of Ash once more after he voiced the character in the “Dead by Daylight” horror survival game, CBR reported. Following that, it seems that Campbell will indeed be stepping away from Ash. While this may seem like the end for the franchise, the actor did put forward the idea that he’ll be fine if a younger actor took over the role. “Ash Vs Evil Dead” Season 4 could then build around this idea, adding other characters in the series to support a possible young Ash.
Of course, the problem here is the development of the story. In “The Mettle of Man,” audiences saw Ash rousing up in a post-apocalyptic world with a Knight of Sumeria joining him shortly after. Writers will have to find a way to bypass this hurdle to seamlessly introduce a younger Ash. That is, of course, if Netflix decides to order “Ash Vs Evil Dead” Season 4. However, judging by the viewer count of the third installment, it’s unlikely that the streaming giant will revive this series, especially since Campbell said he’s not interested in reprising his role.
