Asian markets slip more than 2 pct amid tight U.S. Presidential race, gold up nearly 4 pct at $1,324

All the major Asian indices were trading on a lower note on Wednesday. The key events for the day are U.S. Presidential election as well as Indian government abolishes use of current larger bank notes.

Gold was trading around $1,330 marks while silver was trading around $18.90 levels.

South Korea’s Kospi was trading 3.08 percent lower at 1,942.36 points.

Tokyo's Nikkei was trading 5.40 percent lower at 16,250.50 points.

Shanghai composite index to open down 0.1 pct at 3,146.08 points and China's CSI300 index to open flat at 3,370.60 points.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng was trading 2.97 percent lower at 22,229.26 points.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was trading 1.96 percent lower at 5,151.40 points.

In addition, India’s NSE Nifty was trading around 3.66 percent lower at 8,229.10 points and BSE Sensex was trading at 3.16 percent lower at 26,736.46 points.
