Ubisoft previously announced it still has big plans for “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” that will translate to supporting the game with new content and more updates for another year. While the developer tried to keep details of future DLCs under wraps, it appears that the rumored Ragnarok-themed expansion has been leaked online.
Six official-looking screenshots and promotional images were shared on Reddit recently. The source said the leak came from Chinese stores where the “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” expansion may have been prematurely unveiled.
A link to the stores where the “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” DLC was discovered is not included in the Reddit post. However, the Reddit user included a game description translated through Google Translate, seemingly hinting at the expansion being titled “Dawn of Ragnarok.”
The DLC is expected to be a story-driven expansion like its predecessors, but it is still unclear how it will be connected to the stories and Isu mysteries told in the base game, as well as in the “Wrath of Druids” and “Siege of Paris” expansions. But a part of the leaked description reads, “The story takes place in the magnificent Nine Realms in the mythology of North, and here has been threatened by the invasion of the kingdom of frost and flames.”
The description also calls the upcoming “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” DLC the “most ambitious expansion pack” in the history of the franchise. The gameplay description adds, “Aivor must personally experience the fate of Odin, the war of the North and the destiny of the god of wisdom.” It also makes references to a supernatural power that uses thunder that will be unleashed as players complete “Dawn of Ragnarok.” The leaked DLC listing suggests it will be released on March 10, 2022.
Leaker Tom Henderson noted that the leaked listing is the same DLC he was referring to in a previous post. He reiterates the “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” expansion is expected to have around 40 hours of gameplay, and Ubisoft could make the official announcement on Monday.
Henderson added that Ubisoft will release two more additional stories before “Dawn of Ragnarok” launches. Ubisoft is also scheduled to release the “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” Title Update 1.4.1 this week that will require players to re-download the base game as part of the “data restructuring” to prepare for future updates and content.
