CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico, Sept. 06, 2017 -- Associa, through its nonprofit Associa Cares, has donated $10,000 to the Cruz Roja Mexicana (Red Cross of Mexico) to assist in recovery efforts after Tropical Storm Lidia hit the mainland over the weekend.
The storm brought torrential rain and flooding to the area and caused more than 1,400 people to seek refuge at storm shelters as the storm flooded streets and stranded tourists. The tropical storm developed just days after Hurricane Harvey devastated South Texas.
“Our thoughts are with the people who have been displaced by Tropical Storm Lidia,” stated Andrew Fortin, Associa Cares president. “Many local businesses and family homes have sustained damage as a result of this storm and we hope this donation will help in their recovery efforts.”
