France 24 reported Oct. 28 that Atlanta activist Scotty Smart is trying to persuade Black voters to cast ballots in the Nov. 3, 2026, midterms.

The report described voter abstention as widespread and said Smart sees civic participation as a path to change.

Turnout has also featured in other coverage of the midterms. A CBS model, as summarized in earlier EconoTimes coverage of midterm turnout, found Democrats were more likely to say they were certain to vote, while Republicans were stronger among people who said they might or probably would vote.

The U.S. midterm election is scheduled for Nov. 3, 2026.
