The Survey Corps is gearing up for another major battle in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 12. Unfortunately, it was reported recently that there will be a three-week break before this installment is officially released.
A schedule shakeup pushed episode 11’s airing to Oct. 7 in Japan local time as TV network NHK paved way for news coverage of Typhoon Trami. And based on earlier reports, there will be a much longer delay before the official release of “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 12.
Some fans might still find articles that say “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 12 is slated to air on Oct. 15. But given the recent changes, the installment titled “Night of the Battle to Retake the Wall” will be the one hit with the previously reported three-week hiatus.
Over a week ago, Reddit user mika6000 reported that based on Japanese TV network NHK’s October 2018 TV guide no time slot is listed for a new “Attack on Titan” episode on Oct. 15, 22, and 29. Before checking the complete Reddit post, note that this thread was published when episode 11 was not yet rescheduled.
Now, the three-week break mentioned in the Reddit post applies to the release date of “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 12. It was also reported that NHK’s TV guide does not refer to the next episode as a series finale.
For now, fans can watch the preview for “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 12 to have an inkling of what’s happening next. The next installment uses the same title as the second chapter in the Return to Shiganshina arc.
Based on the brief teaser, “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 12 can be described as the calm before the storm. And that chaos is the actual battle at the entrance of Wall Maria as the Survey Corps advances toward Shiganshina district.
Some of the information revealed in episode 11 is most likely going to be revisited in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 12. In effect, Eren and the other protagonists will become more intrigued by what is really hidden in the Yeagers’ basement in Shiganshina. As they step closer to retaking Wall Maria, some of the characters will start thinking about exploring the world outside the Walls.
