Things will get more intense once “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9 airs this weekend. The highlight of the upcoming episode is the rise of a new ruler of the Walls after Rod Reiss’s Titan dies.
The Garrison and Squad Levi started their preparations against the looming attack of Rod’s Titan in episode 8. A preview of “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9 shows that Rod, in his Colossal Titan form, is closing in on the Orvud District. But if its counterpart manga chapter will be closely followed in the anime series, fans can expect that everything goes well in the end.
As Rod approaches the Orvud District in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9, the Garrison charges cannons onto the Colossal Titan. But without hitting Rod’s nape, all these efforts will be futile.
Meanwhile, Erwin pleads to Historia that she stay away from the battle because, being the next true heiress to the throne, they cannot afford to lose her in the fight. But, as expected, Historia will not back down and will play an important role in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9.
The Garrison will later find the right target but at this time, it will be too late as Rod’s Titan has already reached the Walls. This is where Squad Levi is expected to take over the command and execute the right strategy. Since Rod’s Titan’s body is covered with extreme heat, explosions will be produced once he is hit with gunpowder, which is the very likely tactics Squad Levi will perform in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9.
Eren will also transform in his Titan form in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9 after Rod reaches the Walls. Eren, equipped with gunpowder, attacks Rod. Erwin then suggests that they concentrate the gunpowder on Rod’s damaged face and open mouth so they can destroy his head once and for all.
Their plan is likely to succeed but they still need to look for Rod’s nape and destroy it. Historia will be the one to fulfill this plan as she disobeys Erwin and joins the battle in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9.
In the manga, Historia gets a flashback vision of her father’s life as soon as she killed him, which will also be a nice scene to include in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 9. But, most of all, Historia declaring herself as the new and true ruler of the Walls will certainly be the scene to look forward to once the next episode airs on Sept. 16.
