Even though the first trailer for “Avengers: Endgame” has already been released, there are still a lot of questions that fans have with regards to what will actually happen in the movie. For example, will Thanos (Josh Brolin) actually be the main bad guy this time? What if his actions cause an even greater threat from the Marvel universe to appear in the form of Death herself?
For those who may not have read the comics, Thanos is basically obsessed with proving his love to Death who is a literal person and is a woman. This then leads the mad titan to collect the infinity stones and cause massive carnage. In the MCU, Thanos’ motivations for using the stones is quite different, but this could be why Death will appear in “Avengers: Endgame”.
This is just a fan theory for now, but it has been speculated by many that “Avengers: Endgame” could feature a much bigger threat than just boring old Thanos. After all, just seeing him again wouldn’t be that exciting and it would be much more interesting to see him team up with the Avengers. The motivation for doing so is obvious.
From the start, Thanos did not want all life in the universe to end. He just wanted to bring balance to a population that was growing out of control. If Death makes an appearance, however, this could change and there might be more fatalities than Thanos was aiming for. This could be why he might form an alliance with the Avengers in “Avengers: Endgame”.
As to who Death would be in “Avengers: Endgame,” there are speculations that it could be the mother of Hela (Cate Blanchett). Thor (Chris Hemsworth) did refer to her as his half-sister, after all, so this could be an important clue. In any case, the movie will be coming out on April 24, 2019, so fans will find out what’s what by then.
