Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza said in an Instagram post that he hopes a meeting with Paris Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire will lead to practical steps for Palestinians, Anadolu Agency reported Monday.

Azaiza said Gregoire invited him to discuss Gaza, Palestine and his work documenting Palestinian life. The English-language Anadolu report said the conversation considered what his photographs show about life in Gaza and how Palestinian perspectives could remain visible.

In an X post, Gregoire said Azaiza’s photographs from Gaza had stirred consciences around the world, Anadolu Agency reported in Arabic. Gregoire said the meeting aimed to draw attention to the courage of people who risked their lives reporting from Gaza, the report said.
