As with all prior versions of Zulu, the Java SE 9 GA release supports all major Linux distros, desktop & server versions of Windows, and macOS across public, private and hybrid clouds and various virtualization and container technologies.
“We’ve successfully migrated from Oracle HotSpot to Zulu Enterprise and have been very pleased with the results,” said Attila Bukta, Director of OMS Service Reliability Engineering at Workday, Inc. “We’ve seen identical Java application performance, received timely security updates, and the open source nature of Zulu has enabled us to reduce our ongoing JDK/JVM support costs. Azul also fixed a long-standing JVM bug that had been dogging our operations team for years, demonstrating Azul’s expertise in triaging and fixing problems and the quality of their support and engineering teams.”
“Over the past 4 years Zulu has emerged as a leading candidate for Java developers and devops teams who prefer open source,” said John Abbott, Founder and Research Vice President at 451 Research.
“Zulu, our tested and certified builds of OpenJDK, is trusted and adopted by users ranging from Global 1000 enterprises to early-stage startups and we are pleased to now add certified support for Java 9”, said Scott Sellers, president and CEO of Azul Systems. “In a world where unpatched open source software is considered an existential risk, choosing Zulu Enterprise enables enterprises to access timely access to new releases, security updates and bug fixes, along with long-term support for older versions of Java going back to Java 6, all verified Java SE compliant and all backed by the world’s best support organization exclusively focused on Java and the Java runtime.”
