BIGBANG’s Daesung is in hot water after a news agency reported about possible illegal activities in a building he owns. It was said that the singer’s 8-story property in Gangnam is only operating at night so the business going on there could be related to prostitution and adult services.
In the report that was published by Channel A, it added that the business that was registered housed in BIGBANG’s Daesung’s building is a restaurant, but there is no sign of that kind of business there. The reporter and her crew also visited the place and tried to get into the upper floors of the property, but when the elevator door opens, there are metal doors blocking the way, and it was said that they are only being unlocked at night when the businesses start.
Daesung issued his apology
A few hours after the building scandal broke out, the BIGBANG member issued an apology to everyone for causing them to worry and explained his side as well, as per Korea’s Newsen. In his statement, Daesung also vowed to take legal action against the people who will be proven to have operated an illegal business in his property.
“First of all, I would like to express my sincere apologies for greeting everyone with this kind of matter while I am serving in the military, as well as for causing everyone to worry,” part of Daesung’s statement reads. “The building described in the reports is one that I purchased just before enlisting and is registered under my name but at the time of purchase, there are already tenants operating their business and I am not aware of the illegal activities of the companies.”
Daesung’s explanation
The BIGBANG member said that he bought the building in question just before he enlisted in the army early last year. He narrated that since he purchased the property at the time when he set to leave for his mandatory military service, he failed to know more about his building.
He admitted that his lack of experience in managing a building property had unfortunately led to this problem, and he regretted it. After making a promise to hold people responsible if found to be guilty of illegal acts, he said that he would do his best to carry out his responsibilities as the landlord. Meanwhile, BIGBANG’s Daesung is set to be released from the army in November.
