BIGBANG’s agency’s former CEO Yang Hyun Suk will be investigated with the help of US police

Yang Hyun Suk

BIGBANG has not performed on stage together since 2017. The group’s last performance as a 5-member band took place at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on January 2017. This concert also marked the last day of their promotion for their album “MADE.”

BIGBANG is being managed by YG Entertainment since their debut in 2006 and Yang Hyun Suk, a former member of Seo Tai Ji and the Boys and founder of YG, who formed and supported them all the way to their monstrous success worldwide. The group is on hiatus now as the members are completing their military service.

The members in the army

In the group, TOP was already discharged from the service in July and G-Dragon is expected to be out by October. Taeyang and Daesung will follow next with their scheduled release in November. As for the fifth and youngest member of BIGBANG, Seungri has yet to serve as his enlistment was delayed due to the legal troubles he is facing at the moment.

BIGBANG will never be able to perform as a 5-member group despite their promise to return on stage after their enlistments. This is because Seungri has left the group and retired in March.

Yang Hyun Suk and BIGBANG

BIGBANG isn't likely to reunite with Yang Hyun Suk as well when all four members complete their army duties. This is because the YG CEO also stepped down after being suspected of using prostitution to bolster his business, embezzlement of funds and most recently, for gambling.

Along with Seungri, Yang was invited for questioning at the Seoul Metropolitan Police. He is facing charges of gambling and illegal money exchange that were said to have been used to have enough funds for the casinos in Las Vegas. Assistance from the US police was also requested to verify Yang’s visits to the hotel-casino in the U.S.

JTBC News released an investigative report on BIGBANG’s ex-CEO and it contains interviews from people who have knowledge of Yang’s activities. One of the interviewees was YG’s former staff who attested that Yang and some of his artists usually stay at the MGM Grand when they are in the States.

Yang Hyun Suk is set for questioning today to answer the allegations. Evidence is also expected to be presented to him during the interrogation.
