BNP Paribas has received European Central Bank approval for a 2026 share buyback of up to €1.3 billion, with purchases scheduled to begin Nov. 2.

An independent investment services provider will carry out purchases under an irrevocable mandate, the bank said Wednesday. BNP Paribas plans to retire the shares acquired through the program.

The market purchases are authorized under the fifth resolution adopted at a BNP Paribas shareholder meeting on May 12, 2026. The bank said the program will comply with the European Union’s Market Abuse Regulation and its implementing rules.

BNP Paribas will publish weekly progress notices on its website and distribute the information through legally required disclosure channels.
