BTS is the most popular boy band in the world right now and everyone will agree with this. In fact, even Rollingstone, the American pop culture and entertainment magazine, stated that the South Korean group of singers is a great pop group.
The publication further praised the band after releasing its newest album titled “Map of the Soul: 7” in February. It was said that various review sites in the U.S. also gave BTS’ fourth full-length album the highest ratings.
“BTS has reached the top of the U.S. music charts without compromising with the traditional way,” Rollingstone stated via press reels. “It has created a global pop sensation that no one has ever seen and is winning in its own unique way.”
New record in Gaon music chart
Moreover, back in their hometown in South Korea, BTS officially received the Gaon music chart’s first quadruple-million certification. It was the first time that the Korean music chart gave this award to an artist or group so this is another feat for the septet that includes RM, Jungkook, V, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope and Suga.
Soompi reported that starting from the music releases on Jan. 1, 2018, Gaon began certifying platinum albums once they reached the 250,000 sales mark. Albums who recorded a million were given the million certification and apparently BTS was able to achieve this four times already and they are the group or artists to do so. The band's quadruple million certification came after their “Map of the Soul: 7” sold more than four million copies.
BTS’ “DNA” new history in YouTube
As if these accolades are not enough, UK’s Metro also reported that BTS just made a new history with YouTube as well. They now hold the record for the “most commented-on video” with their “DNA” track. It accumulated the highest number on YouTube with 5 million comments.
With that, it stole the record from PSY who previously placed first with his “Gangnam Style.” it was added that “DNA” is close to getting a billion views and BTS may have another new record from YouTube once this happens.
