Bandhan Bank’s quarterly profit rose 456% as lower provisions accompanied stronger interest income and loan growth, while the Indian lender also reported improved bad-loan ratios.

The bank’s board approved its quarterly and half-year results for the period ending Sept. 30 at a meeting in Kolkata on Wednesday, Oct. 28, the date listed for its scheduled results review.

Profit for the three months to Sept. 30, 2026, was ₹622 crore, compared with ₹112 crore in the same period a year earlier. Bandhan Bank reported growth of 456%. It booked ₹718 crore in provisions and contingencies, down from ₹1,153 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Net interest income increased 14% to ₹2,960 crore from ₹2,589 crore. Operating profit reached ₹1,556 crore, compared with ₹1,310 crore. Net total income advanced 17% to ₹3,665 crore from ₹3,135 crore.

Gross advances totaled ₹1.58 lakh crore at Sept. 30, up 13% from a year earlier. Deposits reached ₹1.73 lakh crore, a 9% increase. Advances grew faster than deposits, based on the bank’s year-over-year figures.

Growth varied among lending categories. Retail lending excluding housing rose 42%, and wholesale banking increased 32%. Housing lending grew 4%, while the Emerging Entrepreneurs Business book was up 2%. The rates for retail lending excluding housing and wholesale banking were higher than those for housing and the EEB book.

Secured advances expanded 18% over the year. They represented more than 57% of total advances, compared with 55% a year earlier.

The gross nonperforming asset (NPA) ratio was 3.1%, down from 5.0% a year earlier; the net NPA ratio was 0.9%, versus 1.4%. Bandhan Bank said both ratios were unchanged from the preceding quarter. It also reported 99.3% loan collection efficiency for its EEB book and a 6.2% net interest margin for the first half of FY27.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Partha Pratim Sengupta said the bank was focused on “improving the composition of our loan portfolio.”
