Apple fans have been waiting for months for “Battlegrounds Mobile India” to launch on the App Store, and that day has finally come. Months after the game was released on Android, it is now downloadable and playable on iOS devices.
The iOS version of “Battlegrounds Mobile India” went live on Wednesday, and the game immediately proved to have retained its popularity in the country. As of this writing, the battle royale title is currently ranked first place under the Strategy gaming apps on App Store.
Krafton also announced the list of minimum requirements to play “Battlegrounds Mobile India” on iOS devices. They are not too restricting, which means more players will be able to return to the beloved mobile game. Indian fans will need an iPhone 6s or a more recent iPhone model to play the game.
“Battlegrounds Mobile India” will not require the latest iOS version either. Krafton confirmed iPhones running on at least iOS 9.0 are compatible with the game. The game only needs at least 2GB RAM. But more recent devices like the iPhone 12 should be able to run the game better as it has 4GB RAM. Meanwhile, the App Store indicates the game will need at least 1.9GB of available storage space.
It can be recalled that the original “PUBG Mobile,” developed by Chinese studio Tencent, was one of the apps banned by the Indian government last year. While gameplay assets look similar, “Battlegrounds Mobile India” is technically a different game as it is developed by the South Korean studio Krafton. “Battlegrounds Mobile India” officially launched on Android last July.
Krafton has also prepared a list of rewards to welcome back its Indian fans. Upon downloading “Battlegrounds Mobile India,” players will receive a set of Welcome Rewards, including the Recon Mask, Recon Outfit, the Celebration Expert Title, and 300 AG. These were the same rewards Krafton handed out to Android players earlier this year.
“Battlegrounds Mobile India” players can redeem these rewards through the Event Center. “As a part of welcoming them to ‘India Ka Battlegrounds,’ exclusive gifts like the Supply and classic Crate Coupons along with the Constable Set can be redeemed separately from the Event Center,” Krafton added.
