Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner 2018: Actor’s Friendship With Matt Damon in Shambles; Ex-Wife’s ‘Extremely Happy’ With New Boyfriend

Ben Affleck’s friendship with Matt Damon is rumored to be in shambles as the latter reportedly wants to have a new set of friends. Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner is reportedly in a much better place right now because of the alleged new boyfriend, John Miller.

Garner was one of the obvious people who helped Affleck get back on track with his sobriety when he checked into rehab for the third time last August. And aside from his ex-wife, most fans are likely certain that Damon is also one of the important individuals in Affleck’s support system.

A recent report from OK! claimed, however, that Damon is out looking to have a new best friend in Chris Hemsworth. A source of the tabloid said, “Matt is on a mission to reinvent himself in Hollywood. He feels like he’s been dragged down over the last year because of his close association with Ben and all of his baggage.” Does this mean the “Justice League” actor is now left with Garner when it comes to people that he can genuinely rely on?

Gossip Cop suggested that the report is “bogus” and insisted that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have gotten much closer recently. The fact-checking news outlet also recalls several instances when they dismissed the same kind of report about Damon’s friendship with Jennifer Garner’s co-parenting partner. Added to that, an insider assured PEOPLE previously that “The Martian” star “will always be there for Ben.”

Meanwhile, Garner is also apparently having a good relationship with her rumored boyfriend. After her divorce from Affleck was finalized, reports came out that the “Elektra” actress had been going out with the Cali Group CEO for the past several months on casual dates.

There are varying reports about the real status of Garner and Miller’s relationship. A source of Us Weekly claimed that Affleck’s ex is already referring to Miller as her boyfriend while PEOPLE’s report says otherwise. But, overall, both these stories confirm that Garner enjoys Miller’s company and that she is “extremely happy” for the “stable love and support” he has shown her in the past couple of months.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck got separated in 2015 but their divorce was only finalized last month. Together, they have three children namely 12-year-old Violet, 9-year-old Seraphina, and 6-year-old Samuel.
