ATLANTA, June 15, 2017 -- John Dallas, chief executive officer of Berkshire Settlements, Inc., has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA).
LISA, a non-profit organization, is the nation’s oldest and largest organization representing participants in the life settlement Industry. Its mission to promote the development, integrity and reputation of the life settlement industry, to advance the highest standards of practice and professional development for the industry, and to educate consumers and advisors about a life settlement as an alternative to lapse or surrender of a life insurance policy. Dallas was elected to the LISA Board at the annual meeting held in May and will serve a term that expires in May 2020.
“I am humbled and honored by the confidence that my industry colleagues demonstrated in me by this election,” said Dallas. “I look forward to participating as a director of LISA as we work together to help protect the integrity of the life settlement marketplace and continue to share information about the life settlement option with consumers, their trusted advisors and regulators.”
Berkshire Settlements is a family-owned and operated life insurance settlement provider dedicated to maximizing the value of consumers’ life insurance policies. For more than a decade, Berkshire has been working directly with consumers -- or their trusted advisors -- to help them maximize the value of a life insurance policy they no longer want or can afford.
In addition to Dallas, two other LISA members were elected to new three-year terms on the LISA Board: Alan Buerger (re-elected) and John McFarland.
“We’re delighted to welcome John to the board of directors of LISA and look forward to his contributions in shaping the organization’s strategy and tactical priorities in the years ahead,” said James Maxson, partner at Culhane Meadows PLLC, and the newly elected chairman of the board for LISA.
