“Better Call Saul” season 5 is anticipated, but it should be noted that the show is delayed. While the exact release date has yet to be announced, it was originally expected to arrive this year, but it was moved to 2020.
When “Better Call Saul” season 5 returns, it will continue with Jimmy McGill’s (Bob Odenkirk) full transformation to Saul Goodman. Plus, Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) revealed that Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and Gus’ rift would also be highlighted and they will probably make up in the upcoming season. He said that the two might either fix their conflict or maybe not.
“They ended on a hard note,” the actor told The Wrap last week. “Certainly, things will be strained and Mike hasn’t given his allegiance over to Gus completely. There’s going to be some moves that have to be made, some conversations between Mike and Gus that either repair or don’t repair the relationship.”
Now, it was previously reported that “Better Call Saul” season 5 is already the second to the last season which means the show is ending in the sixth installment. But how true that this is the case? Actress Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler) had an interview with TV Guide not long ago, and she mentioned that season 6 might not be the last after all despite Esposito’s comments that there will be six seasons and this seems to be the “comfortable way to end the show.”
She explained that her co-actor in “Better Call Saul” season 5 was likely only referring to the statements made by the show’s EP Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. The two said in the past that it would be fun to end the show with the same number of episodes as “Breaking Bad” however, this does not mean that they will really do this and end the show once they reached “Breaking Bad’s” 62 episode-run.
Finally, “Better Call Saul” season 5 is delayed to next year and fans should not expect it to end after the sixth because the EP’s have not decided on this yet.
