“Better Call Saul” season 5’s filming has wrapped up already. But while it is already in the post-production phase, it may still take some time before it is released.
The show is delayed, and this was confirmed by AMC’s president Sarah Barnett in April. In her interview with Vulture, she relayed that “Better Call Saul” season 5 will not be arriving until 2020, and this is due “talent needs.”
“It’s driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show," she told the publication. Plus, the other reason could be the production of “El Camino,” a “Breaking Bad” movie featuring Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman.
Why it is a must-watch drama
“Better Call Saul” season 5 is coming next year, and Bod Odenkirk, who plays the lead Jimmy McGill role, said that the viewers must not miss it because it is the best season ever. He said that it is something that will blow everyone’s mind, and he is not kidding when he said this.
"It’s f***ng awesome,” he told Deadline. “I can't wait for people to see it. It's just shattering in every direction, and I love it. Season five is just everything's on fire, and it's just burning down around us.”
Plot - What will happen
The show focuses on Jimmy McGill’s life before he is Saul Goodman in “Breaking Bad.” And “Better Call Saul” season 5 is the final installment where the fans will last see Jimmy again since he is transforming to Goodman already.
His full transformation is expected to happen in the upcoming fifth season, so there may be a bit of “Breaking Bad” crossover since Saul Goodman’s persona is back. With McGill started to lean on the bad side, he may also lose Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) since she will not want to be associated with a lawyer turning into a lifesaver of bad men.
Cast - Who’s coming back?
Aside from Odenkirk and Seehorn, fans will also see Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) back in “Better Call Saul” season 5. Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis), Leonel and Marco Salamanca (Daniel and Luis Moncada), Lydia Rodarte-Quayle (Laura Fraser), and Huell Babineaux (Lavell Crawford) are likely to return in the drama as well.
Finally, as mentioned earlier, “Better Call Saul” season 5 will not be arriving until 2020. The exact date has yet to be announced by AMC.
