“Better Call Saul” season 5 may have been delayed for months, but it is finally coming really soon. This is surely happening since the filming for this installment has been completed in September, and it can be assumed that everything has been processed already for the release.
It can be recalled that “Better Call Saul” season 5’s original premiere was moved to another date, and AMC president said it was due to “talents needs.” While it was not mentioned, it is also easy to link the delay to the production of the “Breaking Bad” prequel titled “El Camino.” As the production team behind the movie is the same people managing the fifth installment of BCS, they can only work on one project at a time.
What the first official teaser revealed
AMC uploaded the very first official video trailer of “Better Call Saul” season 5, and although it was short, it is easy to see that it is the beginning of Jimmy McGill’s transformation. The teaser called “Joyride” showed McGill being driven by someone who appears to be from a group of bad guys.
In the vehicle, McGill looks uncomfortable after seeing all the guns around the car. It was not shown where he is being brought to, but by the looks of it, he could have been driven to a boss, his first client. He was probably called to fix things for a con-man so he can’t be imprisoned for some crimes he committed. This situation is likely the turning point when McGill will gradually turn to the corrupt lawyer Saul Goodman.
Photo stills confirmed who’s returning in season 5
On the show’s social media page, AMC also posted photos of scenes taken from “Better Call Saul” season 5. The pictures featured some of the cast members; thus, those who are confirmed to return include Nacho (Michael Mando), Mike (Jonathan Banks), Kim (Rhea Seehorn), Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) and Huell (Lavell Maurice Crawford). Of course, Bob Odenkirk will remain as the lead actor in the series.
Airdate
“Better Call Saul” season 5 is set to return on Feb. 23 at 10 p.m. Lastly, as shared by AMC, the plot summary for this chapter reads: “Jimmy finally makes the decision that changes everything — to practice law as ‘Saul Goodman’ and this decision will soon create unexpected and profound waves of change for everyone in his world.”
