While industries worldwide are undertaking blockchain research to explore relevant use cases, BiCongress seeks to put forth a platform that allows voting and legislation in a decentralized manner.

BitCongress recently released a whitepaper that explains how this purely peer-to-peer version of electronic voting system works.

The Merkle explains that unlike Bitcoin, there would be a token issued to individual participants in the BitCongress ecosystem, called VOTE. Every VOTE could be sent to only one particular address at a time, which would prevent users from manipulating the votes through a double-spend voting process.

Moreover, as individual VOTE tokens are returned to BitCongress members after the votes have been counted, there is no need for an inflationary supply of tokens.

AXIOMITY, a decentralized application and wallet for BitCongress, allows for the voice of the members to be heard. It is software that enables the creation of, modification of, distribution, publication, comment, debate, voting & ranking of newly introduced legislation.  The topics to vote on include legislation, as well as candidates for dedicated roles in the legislative framework.

Using private-public key cryptography, BitCongress voting data will be permanently recorded on the blockchain, allowing users to vote on specific issues, as well as to see the voting records while keeping identities anonymous.

In addition, the blockchain allows anyone in the world to participate in BitCongress, regardless of their location.
