Bitcoin (BTC) crossed above $83,000 in Binance spot trading on Oct. 20 after a $119 gain between two evening quotes, returning to a level it had fallen below earlier in the day.
At 6:05 p.m. ET (22:05 UTC), the spot quote stood at $83,049. Bitcoin had been quoted at $82,930 15 minutes before, placing the move across $83,000 between those readings.
The later quote also showed Bitcoin up 0.24% over one hour. That percentage covers a longer period than the $119 change between the two spot quotes.
Earlier Tuesday, Bitcoin had fallen to $82,740 on Binance at 11:12 a.m. ET (15:12 UTC), following a $631 decline over 15 minutes. The first quote in that comparison was $83,371, putting the morning move across the same price level in the opposite direction.
Bitcoin had also moved above $83,000 in a Binance spot reading the previous day. It reached $83,012 at 3:38 a.m. ET (07:38 UTC) on Oct. 19 before a later quote put it back below the mark at $82,761.
