Amid the New Year's flurry, Starbucks Japan provided a rare and delightful lottery featuring the Starbucks Fukubukuro, or "lucky bag." This elusive item holds a special place in the hearts of the Japanese due to its scarcity and unique acquisition process.
Limited Winners for Coveted Bag
Out of the 19 participants in this year's lottery, only three emerged victorious, earning the chance to purchase the highly coveted Starbucks Fukubukuro. One such lucky winner was K. Masami, a devoted Starbucks enthusiast, as per SoraNews 24.
Masami's winning lottery ticket granted her the opportunity to purchase the Fukubukuro for 8,000 yen, says BNN. When the bag arrived, it exceeded her expectations, brimming with various Starbucks merchandise. Among the treasures were decorative cafe plates, imparting a touch of Starbucks charm to Masami's home.
Exclusive Starbucks Tumblers
Nestled within the depths of the bag were two stylish tumblers. The first was a Stainless To Go Cup Tumbler, intricately adorned with a festive holiday motif. The second was a Stainless Steel Bottle, an exclusive item only available through the lucky bag. These items added to the allure and value of the Fukubukuro.
Accompanying the tumblers was a bag of Pike Place Roast ground coffee beans, promising to deliver the iconic Starbucks experience right in the comfort of one's home. The combination of these delightful items intensified the appeal of the lucky bag.
Additional Perks and Savings
The allure of the Fukubukuro extended beyond its contents. The bag also contained tickets that could be exchanged for drinks or even more coffee beans. The total value of these tickets came to an impressive 4,697 yen, nearly offsetting the initial cost of the bag. Alongside the value of the stainless steel tumblers, Masami considered the bag to be an excellent deal.
The elusive nature of the Fukubukuro adds to its charm. For enthusiasts like Masami, the lucky bag represents an exciting start to the new year, igniting their passion for Starbucks products and making the quest for this phantom item all the more worthwhile.
