Bitcoin's Billion-Dollar Ballet: MicroStrategy's Bold Move, Whale Migrations, and Price Targets

MicroStrategy's Bitcoin Acquisition:

From February 3rd to February 9th, 2025 Strategy-prior MicroStrategy- purchased 7,633 Bitcoins at approximately $742.4 million in cost; an average of $97,255 per Bitcoin148 This cost is financed by the proceeds from sales of stock and a recently completed preferred stock offering1. Strategy now owns 478,740 BTC through these buys on February 9, 2025. These have been purchased at an average price of $65,033 per Bitcoin1. Strategy stands as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin3. Strategy's co-founder and executive chairman, Michael Saylor, has publicly stated the company's long-term commitment to Bitcoin1. Strategy's Bitcoin strategy has resulted in a 4.1% year-to-date Bitcoin yield. Bitcoin holdings exceeds $554 million.

Whale Transactions and Market Movements

Whale Alert announced a huge transaction of Bitcoin worth $424 million in three deals. More than 4,382 BTC is moved in such transactions, out of which were two big transfer deals between unverified wallets, and there also was a movement of 699 BTC from Kraken to Bitfinex, whose motives could not be analyzed, but possibly it might give an idea about the intentions that big investors can be adjusting their portfolios before probable market fluctuations. Further, on 10 February, 14,000 Bitcoins untouched for 7 to 10 years have been moved but not sent to exchanges. It appears that these Bitcoins are not ready for sale. Investors holding more than 1,000 BTC, i.e., BTC whales, have been selling more since November while small investors have been buying a lot since mid-December.

Technical Analysis: Key Levels to Watch for BTC/USD

BTC/USD currently trades above both short-term (34-EMA and 55-EMA) and long-term (200-EMA) moving averages on the daily chart. Minor support is around $90,000; breaking below this would drag the pair down to $86,700, $84,000, $80,000, or $75,800. Immediate resistance is around $103000 any breach above confirms intraday bullishness, a jump to $110000. A secondary barrier at $110,000 indicates that closing above this level could lead to targets at $111,292, $115,000, or even $135,000.

Investment Strategy: Opportunities for Traders

Indicators (4-hour chart).

It is good to buy on dips around $90,000, with a stop-loss set at $80,000 for a TP of $110000/$115,000 or $135,000.
