Bitget’s planned purchase of a Thai digital asset exchange remains subject to Thai regulatory approval, with a scheduled share transfer on Oct. 31 marking a next step rather than a confirmed launch.

The company said Oct. 20 it plans to acquire GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a licensed exchange and brokerage operator, through a planned investment in BTGT Management (Thailand) Ltd. The transaction has not closed.

A Sept. 24 filing by GMO Internet, Inc. says it and its Thai holding company plan to sell a combined 7,349,446 shares, representing 99.94% of the target, to BTGT Management or its designee. The filing sets Oct. 31 for the transfer and says the sale price was not disclosed at the buyer’s request. EconoTimes previously covered the planned share transfer and ownership stake.

Bitget says it intends to introduce its platform in Thailand after the deal closes and regulators clear the change of control. The filing’s transfer date is not a date for the platform’s launch.
