Bitseed has recently started the first plug-in bitcoin node to attract more and more contribution from users to the bitcoin network. Priced at $149, the node comes preconfigured with the official Bitcoin Core client and is credited using not more than 10 watts of power.
Nodes broadcast messages for validating and relaying transactions. In contrast to bitcoin miners, who get rewarded for confirming transactions, node operators do not get any financial incentive.
Bitnodes developer Addy Yeow, spoke about his upcoming hardware solution, to be launched somewhere in mid-2015.
"The goal of Bitnodes Hardware is to provision ready-to-run hardware for everyday consumers to launch their own bitcoin node at home and to become part of the network," he said.
