Many fans are wondering what’s in store for them when their favorite anime series goes on hiatus in 2021 after its fourth installment. Most of them are even wondering if they should wait for a “Black Clover” Season 5 announcement.
The main reason for the break was that the show's plot had completely caught up with the source material, but the manga has continued since then, which means there are plenty of stories ready to be adapted. Unfortunately, Studio Pierrot, which created the first four seasons of the anime, has yet to confirm “Black Clover” Season 5.
Given the anime series’ success and the recent Netflix release of its spin-off movie, fans would be surprised if the fifth installment did not come sooner rather than later. But, in the meantime, here is everything we know so far about “Black Clover” Season 5.
‘Black Clover’ Season 5 Release Date
Unfortunately for fans, there has been no official “Black Clover” Season 5 release date announced as of yet, and no formal renewal has been made public, either, per Digital Spy. The recent spin-off film “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King,” on the other hand, hints that an announcement concerning the franchise's future could happen at any time. Rumors are also circulating that a 2024 release date is being explored, but this has yet to be confirmed.
‘Black Clover’ Season 5 Cast
As fans await more details about “Black Clover” Season 5, we can assume that the anime series’ main cast will likely come back for another run, including Asta, voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara (Japanese) and Dallas Reid (English); Yuno voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki (Japanese) and Micah Solusod (English); Noelle Silva voiced by Kana Yūki (Japanese) and Jill Harris (English); Liebe voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto (Japanese) and Bryce Papenbrook (English); Yami Sukehiro voiced by Junichi Suwabe (Japanese) and Christopher R. Sabat (English); Magna Swing voiced by Genki Muro (Japanese) and Ian Sinclair (English) and; Julius Novachrono voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa (Japanese) and Robert McCollum (English).
‘Black Clover’ Season 5 Spoilers
The yet-to-be-confirmed “Black Clover” Season 5 is expected to pick up where Season 4 left off, The Mary Sue suggested. To recall, the final episodes of the fourth installment took viewers to Chapter 272.
In the three years afterward, another 92 chapters have been released, and fans can expect these to make up the majority of a hypothetical “Black Clover” Season 5. Previously, the show adapted around two chapters per episode. Without giving too much away, it appears that viewers will be picking up right at the end of the Spade Kingdom arc, with a climactic clash against the Dark Triad looming.
In case you missed it, Season 4 finished with Asta rejecting the underworld's rules and deciding to collaborate with Liebe. Noelle and the rest of the Black Bulls were also seen training to get stronger, while the Magic Knights and the Wizard King were preparing for the imminent conflict with the Spade Kingdom.
