Many fans are likely rooting for “Black Clover” episode 133 to be released soon. However, the status of the COVID-19 crisis in Japan is suggesting a different scenario.
‘Black Clover’ episode 133 release date: What to expect
“Black Clover” episode 133 was just one of the many anime shows that were affected by the pandemic caused by coronavirus. Changes in TV broadcast schedules were previously announced following a nationwide state of emergency in Japan that started in mid-April.
It was initially planned to conclude this week, but Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced on Monday that it will be extended until the end of May on Monday. This could ultimately affect the timeline for TV networks’ resumption of regular broadcast. It is also likely to impact when the anime series, based on Yuki Tabata’s same title manga, will return with “Black Clover” episode 133.
This does not only affect the “Black Clover” episode 133 release date. It could also alter the timeline for the completion of season 3 and the production of the next installment. But Monsters & Critics estimate that if the TV networks resume regular programs in less than two months, “Black Clover” season 3’s finale could still air in fall.
‘Black Clover’ episode 133 spoilers: Training arc continues
Fans have been very understanding about the delays, but it is still not easy to brace for an unknown number of weeks without “Black Clover” episode 133. It serves as the continuation of the two-part story focused on the Black Bulls’ training with the Crimson Lion Magic Knights underneath an active volcano.
Episode 132 also ended in a huge cliffhanger making the wait for “Black Clover” episode 133 more dreadful. Asta, Noelle, and Leopold successfully fought the giant spider living underground. But Mereoleona detected mana from the monster that she felt was man-made and could be the result of an ancient curse.

“Black Clover” episode 133 is part of the so-called Training Arc that was not part of the manga. It fills the events that took place before the timeskip where the Clover Kingdom and the Heart Kingdom started the attack on the demon living in the Spade Kingdom. It is also the first anime-original arc that is being supervised by Tabata. This means the Training Arc is not a typical filler and features a canon storyline.
