'Black Clover' episode 91 release date, spoilers: Does Mereoleona stand a chance against Rhya?

“Black Clover” episode 91 will bring the focus back to the ongoing raid of the hideout of Eye of the Midnight Sun. To recap, Royal Knights captain Mereoleona decided to attack days earlier than originally planned. So far, things had gone smoothly before the anime series covered the attack of the Black Bulls base. Next week, the series goes back to the main storyline particularly focusing on Mereoleona’s showdown with Rhya.

“Black Clover” episode 91: Who is Rhya?

Rhya is an elf and one of the Third Eye members of the Eye of the Midnight Sun. This means that he plays a vital role in the resurrection of elves in human forms and in their goal of wiping out humanity. Anime fans will also witness one of his signature powers — the Imitation Magic — in “Black Clover” episode 91.

A couple of episodes ago, it was revealed that Rhya has been witnessing the raid as it happens while maintaining his presence hidden. As the Royal Knights advance, he will make quite an entrance in “Black Clover” episode 91.

Fans will notice in the “Black Clover” episode 91 preview that there will suddenly be two Astas in one place, and that means one of them is Rhya using his Imitation Magic. Mereoleona is the Royal Knights captain for a reason, and she will use her wits to determine who is the real Asta. To do it, she will set both Astas on fire because the real one has Anti-Magic that will prevent him from getting hurt. On the other hand, Rhya will be forced to reveal himself after getting some injuries from the flames.

“Black Clover” episode 91: Mereoleona vs. Rhya

Rhya has to heal himself while dodging powerful attacks created by Mereoleona. The elf’s Imitation Magic allows him to also copy others’ powers making it possible for him to use Dark Magic. But this and other subsequent attacks by Rhya will be successfully countered by Mereoleona in “Black Clover” episode 91. Rhya even manages to wield a copy of Asta’s Demon-Slayer Sword but even that will be nothing to Mereoleona.

The Royal Knights will have the upper hand during the Mereoleona vs. Rhya fight, but that changes once Patolli places the final magic stone and Rhya gets fully resurrected. “Black Clover” episode 91 will air on Tuesday, July 9.
