‘Black Sails’ season 4’s episode 5, titled “XXXIII,” will feature Captain Flint putting his life at stake by offering himself as collateral in the ongoing war. Meanwhile, the upcoming episode may also feature mounting tension between former friends Long John Silver and Billy Bones.
The brief synopsis for episode 5 posted on Spoiler TV reads, “Silver (Luke Arnold) takes Flint's (Toby Stephens) life in his hands; Billy (Tom Hopper) drives a wedge; Eleanor (Hannah New) risks everything; Rogers (Luke Roberts) makes a stunning appeal.”
It seems that the upcoming episode will be quite an action-packed one as the core characters struggle with war in numerous storylines. It was also revealed that the British Royal Navy retreats back to England, leaving the West Indies as a battle ground and New Providence Island in bloody chaos.
The promo shows Flint offering himself as collateral, putting his own life at stake. It seems that this would cause some disputes among the pirates as they deal with the situation.
The upcoming episode may also feature mounting tension between two former allies, specifically Long John Silver and Billy Bones. According to Inverse, the two reunited as partners at some point but may become wary of one another and turn suspicious.
Since their time apart, Silver became good friends with Flint but also grew more dangerous to anyone who crosses his path. Billy had different intentions and attempted to kill off Flint during the dispute at Underhill plantation.
Meanwhile, Hulu has acquired the rights to stream the drama-adventure television series long after Starz announced the series’ end with season 4. According to Deadline, the first three seasons will be readily available on the streaming service and the fourth season will air right after Starz airs the finale episode on April.
‘Black Sails’ season 4’s episode 5, titled “XXXIII,” was directed by Alik Sakharov and is scheduled to air on February 26, 2017 on Starz. It will be followed by episode 6, titled "XXXIV," directed by "XXXIV” and scheduled to be released on March 5.
