BOCA RATON, Fla., April 19, 2018 -- Boca West Children’s Foundation is honoring its more than 100 volunteers who devote 45,000 hours each year to help children in need in South Palm Beach County. The Foundation is saluting these volunteers as part of National Volunteer week, and, in particular, those who assisted in the organization’s major fundraiser last week at Boca West Country Club.
The event, “Battle for the Kids Foundation Days,” included a $200,000 Golf Challenge on April 9 and the Concert for the Children featuring a “Battle of the Bands: Chicago vs. Billy Joel” on April 10 at Boca West Country Club.
Volunteers included Debra Davis, a member of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton who organized a team of volunteers to help with the events. “I am a five year member of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton and our motto is ‘Service above Self.’ What better way to serve than to help an organization like BWCF which in turn helps another 24 local charities in our community?”
Based in Boca Raton, Boca West Children’s Foundation’s mission is to create and fund programs assisting children in need. These projects include providing diapers, childcare, beds and bedding, medical and dental care, academic tutoring, after school programs, as well human trafficking prevention and recovery, and more. The Foundation’s grants fund these specific initiatives, as opposed to going into general funds.
“Boca West Children’s Foundation helps such vulnerable members of society and has introduced Hotwire Communications to a number of reputable and impactful charities,” Rochelle Davidson, Events Coordinator, Hotwire Communications said.
Boca West Children’s Foundation raises money through private grants, corporate sponsorships, and donations, as well as through unique charity events that directly benefit the charities.
