“Boruto” Chapter 29 is expected to reveal several things to readers at once and among them is likely the identity of the Kara member, Koji. There have been many theories with regards to this particular character and how he is able to enter Konoha so easily. Among the most disturbing is that he is actually Jiraiya in disguise. On a broader note, the question of whether or not the manga is canon has recently been answered.
It’s never a good idea to take fan theories seriously, but in the case of the possibility that Naruto’s dead mentor might have become an enemy, it’s too delicious to let go of. “Boruto” Chapter 29 might show a very different outcome than the one many are fantasizing about, but the prospect of a Naruto-Jiraiya reunion is appealing.
On that note, if Koji does end up being Jiraiya, this could pose a potential problem regarding Naruto’s ability to protect Kawaki. Facing his former father figure will likely cause the current Hokage to hesitate and this could prove deadly. Then again, what are the chance of this happening in “Boruto” Chapter 29?
It’s more than likely that Koji is a former ninja of the village who was either undercover or MIA and never lost his credentials. This is a far more likely scenario than dead mentors coming to life in such a fashion. So far, the story leading up to “Boruto” Chapter 29 has not been overly ridiculous. This is likely to remain the case in the chapter once it comes out on Nov. 26.
Speaking of the manga, a recent interview featuring Mikio Ikemoto revealed that the illustrated format is canon and so is the anime. Just as everyone thought, the anime is simply taking up airtime with fillers while the manga churns out the main storyline. As such, the events leading up “Boruto” Chapter 29 will likely be featured in future episodes of the anime.
