Boruto is still in Hidden Stone when the Mitsuki arc continues on “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 87. He will be attacked by a new character named Kakou who knows how to use the Dust Release technique. Meanwhile, Shikadai is on his way back to Konoha but will he make it without any obstacles along the way?
The Dust Release is a powerful ninjutsu mastered by a very limited number of people. The “Naruto” manga franchise previously revealed that it was taught to Onoki by his Tsuchikage predecessor, Mu. Then in the “Boruto” anime series, it was implied that Onoki trained Ku as well. So it will most likely surprise Boruto that Kakou has mastered the ninjutsu when they fight in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 87.
Boruto and his friends have not had much luck in the previous fights with the artificial humans created by Ku. This makes the upcoming fight in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 87 all the more interesting. Kakou looks much like one of Ku’s experiment as well and, on top of that, he wields Dust Release ninjutsu.
The “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 87 preview suggests that Chocho, Sarada, and Inojin will also be caught in a fight with at least one artificial human. They seem to be on their way back to Konoha when Kirara blocks their way.
On the other hand, Shikadai is also traveling back to Konoha, according to the “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 87 synopsis. He is tasked to go home immediately so he could report back to the Hokage everything they learned about the artificial humans and army of Akuta. He is expected to successfully pass through the Akuta guarding the Hidden Stone gates.
Many will understandably hope no other threats will delay Shikadai so the arc could progress its narrative as some fans feel like it has been unnecessarily taking up too many episodes. But spoiler reports say that is unlikely the case. “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 87 is slated to be the last episode of 2018 airing on Sunday, Dec. 23. The Mitsuki arc continues in January 2019.
