Brent crude futures fell about 3.2% late Sunday amid talks between Iranian negotiators and Qatari mediators seeking to end the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.

Reuters reported Brent at $109.75 a barrel at 11:07 p.m. ET Sunday (04:07 UTC Monday).

An official briefed on the discussions told Reuters that Iranian negotiators had met Qatari mediators for a third day to pursue an agreement to end the war.

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission says election-night results are unofficial.

Officials may continue counting eligible ballots after polls close and certify results under state rules.

The U.S. midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 3, will determine control of Congress.
