We all are well acquainted with the ‘bendgate’ problem seen in iPhone 6. Now, a “hot” new problem is being reported in the recently launched iPhone 6s. The Touch ID button in the latest handset is apparently getting very hot and stops working.
Several users took to social media platforms to report the issue:
On Apple forum, a user going by the name JazzieFay wrote, “i have had my phone since Friday, and this morning when I woke up the home button was burning hot and the screen is just black. I went to bed with it working just fine last night, plugged it in to charge, and now it won’t work. Nothing else is hot, not even the charging port, just the home button is on fire. I have had the phone unplugged for an hour and the button is still on fire.”
Another user ‘kali4nia85’wrote on Apple support forum: “I was walking to my car from work and noticed my Apple Watch wasn't connected so I pulled my phone out of my purse and it was a black screen and unresponsive. My home button was super hot too. I use my phone as my alarm so I am pretty concerned I did call Apple and the guy said he hadn't heard of this problem and that I should go to an Apple Store and make an appointment. The earliest was Saturday. They don't seem very concerned about the problem. I have to work and cannot go to an appointment on the weekend.”
IBTimes reported Freelance designer Jonnie Hallman tweet: “My iPhone 6s shut off with 50% battery left and the home button became so hot I couldn’t touch it... New feature?”
Some forum users and websites are recommending resetting the iPhone to solve the problem, however, the solutions seems temporary for the moment. Apple hasn’t officially addressed or confirmed the reports yet.
