Washington, D.C., Dec. 14, 2017 -- CAQH, a nonprofit alliance of health plans and related associations, recently received the “Excellence in Health IT Award” from the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI). Presented during the WEDI annual meeting on December 6, the award recognizes organizations and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of information technology (HIT) and eCommerce technology in healthcare.
“CAQH was a natural selection for the Excellence in Health IT award,” said Charles W. Stellar, president and CEO of WEDI. “They are a valued and respected organization within the healthcare industry, and we are pleased to share common goals of enhancing the efficiency of healthcare. Congratulations to CAQH and the leadership behind it who are working to improve healthcare for the better.”
In presenting the award, Steller highlighted the ongoing CAQH commitment to develop and update solutions and operating rules aimed at increasing operational efficiency and decreasing administrative costs.
CAQH works collaboratively to identify common business challenges in healthcare and develop shared, technology-based solutions that reduce those burdens for payers, providers and patients.
The CAQH Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE) is the author of four sets of operating rules that enable health plans, providers and vendors to electronically share administrative data securely and seamlessly. CAQH CORE also offers a voluntary certification program for organizations seeking to verify compliance with those rules.
“We know that by bringing industry stakeholders together, we can make real progress towards addressing critical business challenges in healthcare,” said Robin J. Thomashauer, CAQH Executive Director. “We are honored to be recognized by WEDI, an important colleague in those efforts.”
