Cabka said SBTi Services validated its greenhouse gas reduction targets, giving the Dutch reusable-packaging maker targets for both its own operations and parts of its supply chain. Against a 2022 baseline, the operational target is a 79.79% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 by 2030; the 2036 goal is to lower Scope 3 emissions 35.0%, covering supply purchases and the handling of sold products at the end of their life.
Cabka says it has already reduced market-based scope 1 and 2 emissions by about 66% between 2022 and 2025, citing the shift to renewable electricity at its sites. Its 2025 annual report lists 17,038 tCO2e from scope 1 and market-based scope 2 combined, compared with 175,599 tCO2e from scope 3 that year. Cabka says scope 3 remains the largest part of its footprint.
That leaves the longer-dated target focused on emissions across the value chain, including purchased inputs and product disposal. Cabka’s annual report says renewable sources accounted for 67.4% of total energy consumption in 2025; its broader ambition is to use 100% renewable energy and make its own operations carbon-neutral by 2030.
Cabka CEO Alexander Masharov said the company plans to pursue reductions through renewable electricity, more efficient operations and greater use of recycled plastics. The company said it committed to set the targets in 2024 and achieved validation in 2026 as planned.
