Bitcoin (BTC) options open interest climbed to $38.49 billion in the Oct. 21 Coinglass snapshot, as calls dominated recent trading and a Deribit $95,000 call led the contract rankings.

Calls accounted for 70.70% of about $5.78 billion in 24-hour trading volume, compared with 29.30% for puts. For open interest, which measures outstanding contracts, calls held a 59.08% share and puts 40.92%. The snapshot was recorded at 7:01 a.m. ET (11:01 UTC).

Open interest rose 1.57% from $37.90 billion in the previous reading. In an Oct. 18 Bitcoin options snapshot, puts made up 52% of trading volume while calls still represented the larger share of open interest.

The Oct. 30 $95,000 call on Deribit ranked first in both open interest and trading volume. The $100,000 and $90,000 calls followed it in open interest; their order was reversed in trading volume. The call-put split describes the mix of contracts, but does not establish traders’ net market bets, since options can also hedge other positions. The listed contracts expire Oct. 30.
