Carnival Cruise Line plans to set prices for its beverage packages and Wi-Fi plans according to sailing length, itinerary and season starting Dec. 1, 2026. The cruise line has not published the future rates.
Carnival announced the pricing change on Oct. 14 alongside FunPacks, bundles that combine extras such as beverages, Wi-Fi access, shore excursions and specialty dining. The announcement covers onboard add-ons and does not announce a change to base cruise fares. Carnival said the approach is intended to give guests more flexibility and make vacation options responsive to the season, sailing length and itinerary.
The release lists those pricing factors but gives no future price ranges or schedule for rate changes. Global News reported that Carnival did not directly answer its question about how the prices would be calculated.
Global News also placed the change in the context of political debate over algorithmic pricing. The outlet reported that New Democratic Party Leader Avi Lewis called algorithmic price surging “downright creepy” in April and asked the federal government to ban it. Carnival’s announcement does not address whether demographic or income data would factor into its pricing model.
The four FunPacks are priced per guest, per day: Kidstarter costs $25, Zero Proof $50, Social $60 and Epic $99. Carnival says the bundles can save guests 35% to 55% compared with buying included items separately, based on a six-day cruise. A guest’s actual savings depend on which extras they would otherwise purchase.
FunPacks can be booked through My Cruise Manager from Oct. 13 to Oct. 30 for eligible sailings departing Oct. 31, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2027.
