“Chicago PD” Season 6 is airing soon, and NBC signed up a new character to further boost the story. The giant broadcasting network added Anne Heche for a recurring role for the series’ upcoming new season.
As per Deadline, the 49-year-old actress was booked for an important role on “Chicago PD” season 6. It was revealed that she will be playing Dep. Superintendent Katherine Brennan, an intelligent, self-serving and to-the-point fellow. In other words, her character is someone’s who is tough and would face her opponents, regardless of who they are, head on.
Anne Heche is an Emmy awardee and nominated for Tony’s. She made a guest appearance on ABC’s canceled series “Quantico.” Her most recent project is Astute Films’ “The Best of Enemies,” acting alongside Sam Rockwell and Taraji P. Henson.
What to Expect from the Next Season?
In season 5, Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas) died and Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) was put in a tight spot after his superiors started questioning him about the death. Apparently, he was being suspected because of the shooting incident that he was involved in.
“Chicago PD” season 6 will continue with this storyline. It will pick up where it left off, in a bloody scene with Olinsky dying in prison for a murder offense he was falsely accused of. He was stabbed, died from his wounds and now his partner and friend, Hank Voight, is likely to be in trouble for the incident.
Overall, the last episode of season 5 paved the way for “Chicago PD” season 6 to tackle a new direction for the upcoming episodes. Without Olinsky and with Voight being suspected, a big twist in the story that could change everything is highly possible.
New Cast: Who Will be in the Drama?
“Chicago PD” season 6 will introduce Anne Heche in a new role that was mentioned earlier. She will be joining the fixed cast members who include Jason Beghe, Jesse Lee Soffer, Jon Seda, Marina Squerciati, Patrick John Flueger, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton and Tracy Spiridakos.
Episodes and Air Date
While the first five seasons featured 15 to 23 episodes, “Chicago PD” season 6 may have fewer episodes for its run. For its air date, Fansided shared that it will premiere on Sept. 26 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
“Chicago PD” season 6 will still center on the elite group in the Intelligence Unit department. The team will continue to fight the city’s most heinous crimes like drug-related offenses and organized crimes. The group will also run after people involved in high-profile cases.
