China’s Long March carrier rocket series reached its 675th mission Thursday as the Yaogan-51 07-09 remote-sensing satellites entered orbit, following last month’s internet-satellite launch, Xinhua reported.

A Long March-2C rocket carried the spacecraft from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province. Xinhua said the satellites reached their assigned orbits. The agency described their work as research and surveys of the electromagnetic environment.

The 675th mission followed an Oct. 25 Long March launch from Hainan carrying low-orbit internet satellites. Xinhua listed that operation as No. 674 in the series, placing the Yaogan launch next in the reported count.
