China recorded 5.152 million marriage registrations in the first nine months of 2025, an 8.5% increase from the same period a year earlier, Ministry of Civil Affairs data showed.

The child ratio was 22%. China had more than 223 million residents aged 65 or older, against roughly 213 million children 14 or younger.
