Semiconductor share valuations have fallen to lows last recorded several years ago, while Goldman Sachs’ Delta One desk sees a possible industry peak in 2027.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, known as SOX, traded at about 12.16 times forward earnings. That multiple relates the index’s value to earnings expected in a future period.

The Goldman desk characterized concern over capital spending as “extremely high.” The desk treated 2027 as one possible point for a sector peak, leaving the timing uncertain.
