Circle is developing specialized sectors on Arc, including a payment sector targeted at more than 100,000 transactions per second, as the company expands the blockchain toward financial and AI-agent services.
The company’s Nov. 4 earnings presentation also outlined privacy and AI-agent sectors, describing the plans as works in progress. The privacy design would offer optional confidentiality and selective disclosure. The planned agent sector would use verified identity, mandates and audit trails.
Circle said Arc’s live mainnet processed about 500,000 transactions a day as of Oct. 30. More than $30 billion in USD Coin (USDC) volume had moved through the network since mainnet launch, and assets on Arc totaled $1.5 billion. The 100,000-per-second figure is a target for a planned sector, not the reported mainnet transaction rate.
For the first quarter of 2027, Circle aims to let agents publish paid services, be discovered and hired, receive payment and build trust through their work. The presentation labels these agent scenarios illustrative and says timelines may change.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire also described a proposed process for reviewing disputed AI-agent work before payment in an interview published Oct. 17, as EconoTimes previously reported.
