Coal price slightly recovered, more upside potential only in the medium term

The coal price has managed to recover somewhat in recent days, though at just short of $60 per ton it remains close to its six-year low on account of China's weak import pull.

The market will remain oversupplied in the short term, but in the medium term rising demand is expected in India and growing domestic demand in Indonesia, the largest export country to generate further recovery potential for the price.
