‘Code Black’ season 2’s episode 15, titled “The Devil’s Workshop,” is set to feature a deadly viral outbreak that threatens staff and patients at Angels Memorial. Dr. Leanne Rorish’s safety will also become compromised.
The synopsis for “The Devil’s Workshop” posted on TV Guide reads, “The ER is quarantined when a viral outbreak jeopardizes the lives of the doctors and patients at Angels Memorial. Meanwhile, Ariel, the young girl Leanne (Marcia Gay Harden) bonded with a year ago when she lost her father, returns to the hospital.”
The first part of the two-part finale episode will find the emergency room department at the Angels Memorial hospital quarantined following a dangerous viral outbreak that threatens the lives of patients and health care teams.
The promo shows Angels Memorial medical staff and patients garbed head-to-toe in protective suits around the area. In the next scene, an anxious Dr. Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) warns, “This disease kills in 48 hours.” It seems that a number of doctors may be exposed to the deadly virus, including main protagonist and ER residency director Dr. Leanne Rorish.
During an interview with TV Line, Harden teased that her character is bound to get some action of her own in the two-part finale. She said, “The last two episodes are amazing. It’s a two-parter where we’re combatting a viral disease, and we have to go out into the city to figure out where it’s coming from, and Leanne is compromised, in many, many ways.”
The promo hinted that Leanne will be put into serious danger after a mysterious blonde woman, who is presumed infected, runs to hug her. Leanne will also reunite with a girl named Ariel, who she bonded with following the loss of her father as the girl returns to the hospital. It is possible that the blonde woman in the promo is actually Ariel.
‘Code Black’ season 2’s episode 15, titled “The Devil’s Workshop,” is scheduled to air on CBS on February 1, 2017. David Von Ancken directed the episode written by Corey Evett and Matthew Partney. It will be followed by the season’s final episode, titled "Fallen Angels," scheduled to be released on February 8.
