DETROIT, June 16, 2017 -- Compuware Corporation, the world’s leading mainframe-dedicated software company, announces day-one support for IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V5.4.
Compuware worked with IBM to ensure that its solutions – including Abend-AID, File-AID, Strobe, Topaz and Xpediter – work seamlessly for z/OS customers installing or upgrading to this newest version of CICS Transaction Server.
With CICS Transaction Server V5’s mixed language application serving, developers can focus on core business application components using the best programming language for the task, without worrying about complex language interoperability constructs. New capabilities in this upgrade include Java EE Full Platform support, asynchronous API and policy-based management.
“Compuware has a 34-plus year history of supporting CICS customers with day-one support for IBM releases,” said Sam Knutson, Vice President of Product Management for Compuware. “Of course, we’ve worked to ensure our products work seamlessly with IBM CICS TS V5.4, but if customers are to develop and maintain complex, multi-language CICS applications, they need to be DevOps enabled. Our solutions excel at helping enterprises include the mainframe in their cross-platform Agile DevOps practices and processes so they can be successful in today’s innovation-centric digital markets.”
Compuware provides DevOps teams with Agile tools that make the mainframe different only in syntax, enabling next developers and seasoned staff to perform mainframe related tasks easily and efficiently. For example, Topaz, Compuware’s suite of mainframe development and testing tools, is designed to help developers, regardless of mainframe experience, understand, deploy and test any program, no matter how old or complex, speeding application development and delivery.
