Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy was hospitalized after doctors diagnosed a stroke Saturday, Oct. 31, and was transferred to Johns Hopkins for monitoring, his chief of staff, Allison Herwitt, said Sunday, Nov. 1.

Herwitt said Murphy first felt numbness in his arm during a hockey game involving his son. He was taken to a local hospital, where doctors diagnosed the stroke, before being transferred to Johns Hopkins.
